January Membership Meeting

President Trent Siegle called the meeting to order. The first item of business was the discussion of the upcoming year's shooting schedule. It was decided to schedule each shoot for the last weekend of the month to try to avoid conflict with other club's shoot dates. March 29h & 30th was decided on for the first shoot due to unsuccessful January and February shoots in 2007. It is to be the spring fling with raffle items to be given away for the upcoming turkey season. The next five shoots will be on April 26th & 27th, May 31st and June 1st, June 28th &29th, July 26th and 27th and August 30th & 31st. It was decided that the bow giveaway would take place at the August 31st shoot and that as last year each shoot participant will have a raffle ticket placed in the container for each time they participate in a shoot, but additional tickets would be available for purchase at each shoot. Smoky Valley Shooting Sports in Lindsborg has again agreed to honor our giveaway. The final shoot of the season is to be the weekend of September 27th & 28th with the white tail warmup raffle.

Discussion concerning the City Recreation's proposal for an open house for youth of the city to experience an archery event. A representative from the club is to attend the next city recreation board meeting to discuss plans.

The need for repainting and renumbering the stakes before the March shoot was also discussed. Trent and Ray are to look into this further.

It was decided that there needs to be monthly board meetings and the third Sunday of each month was agreed upon with the meeting place to vary based upon time of year. The main topic of the February meeting on the 17th at 6:30 pm at the Pizza Hut is to be work projects to be done prior to the March shoot.

New officers were elected with Trent Siegle running unopposed for president, Travis Richardson as vice president, and Karen Vondemkamp as Secretary/Treasurer. Tyson Powell would still have one year remaining as a board member and those elected to serve a one year term on the board were John Paul, Ray Switzer, Kaleb Baird, Jimmy Watson, Jr., and Dale Everett.

Members present signed up to help run shoots throughout the year. This will be posted on the website.
